The Child Dental Benefits Scheme is a new child dental benefits programme that gives eligible children access to up to $1013 in benefits per child for dental services over two consecutive calendar years. Children aged between two and 17 will be eligible for Medicare funded dental care.
If your family receives Family Tax Benefit Part A, each of your children will be eligible for up to $1013 worth of Medicare funded dental treatment over a two year period. If your child doesn’t use the full $1013 of dental benefits in the first year, they can use the balance in the second year if they are still eligible.
Child Dental Benefits cover most dental treatment, including:
- Examinations
- Scaling and Cleaning
- Fillings
- X-rays
- Fissure Sealing
- Root Canal Treatment
- Extractions
Orthodontic services, cosmetic dental services and services provided in a hospital are not covered.
At Keilor Dental Group, we will not charge you any additional fees or gap fees for any Child Dental Benefit Scheeme claims.
